Heesen Yachts has delivered the new build Santosha, a “highly personalized superyacht crafted to meet the unique tastes and preferences of her new owners.”

Drawing upon years of chartering experience, the owners collaborated closely with Heesen’s engineers and craftsmen to ensure every detail of their vision was fulfilled, according to the shipyard. The result is a yacht that “truly exceeded their expectations in every aspect.”

“We are honored to have had the opportunity to build this exceptional yacht for such a wonderful family. Both the Heesen and owner’s teams worked tirelessly to bring Santosha to life. I am confident she will set a new standard for Heesen yachts, offering unparalleled comfort and style for those who love to cruise,” said Niels Vaessen, CEO of Heesen.

“We also extend our thanks to MarineMax and Northrop & Johnson for introducing the client. I sincerely thank MCM for their exceptional coordination throughout this beautiful project. Their dedication and expertise ensured that the entire experience was enjoyable, allowing the clients to fully enjoy the process of creating their dream yacht.”

Santosha is designed to deliver extraordinary speed, performance, and stability. During sea trials in the North Sea, she performed exceptionally, demonstrating quiet operation and remarkable capabilities in various sea conditions. Captain Bob van Zundert of Heesen expressed his enthusiasm: “The yacht responds beautifully, providing a smooth and exhilarating experience.”

Santosha achieves 22 knots

Powered by two IMO Tier III-compliant MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines and an efficient hull design, Santosha achieves an impressive top speed of 22 knots—a remarkable feat for a superyacht with a displacement of approximately 510 tonnes at half load.

According to Heesen, collaboration with the owner’s representative, Peter Wilson of MCM, was instrumental in the project’s success. Wilson remarked, “We are thrilled to deliver this magnificent, fast, all-aluminium motor yacht. She combines exceptional speed and performance with hydrodynamic efficiency. At slower speeds, she offers remarkable range, and her shallow draft makes her incredibly versatile, allowing her to excel in various conditions, making her a multipurpose vessel. The owner’s design talent and extensive experience from many other projects played a crucial role in Santosha’s success, thanks to their intimate involvement throughout.”

Santosha will debut in Palm Beach

Santosha represents a significant milestone in Heesen’s yacht design and engineering. As the first in a new class of 57-meter all-aluminium yachts, she features an enclosed volume of approximately 780 GT and a lightweight, ultra-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form. “The accuracy of the weight calculations was critical in achieving the Bahama draft,” said Peter van der Zanden, Head of Heesen’s Engineering Department. “This yacht exemplifies our commitment to precision engineering and design excellence.”

Accommodating twelve guests across six luxurious staterooms, Santosha includes a 63-square-meter owner’s apartment on the main deck. Her striking exterior design, including a unique scooped stern, adds to her impressive presence on the water. Generous outdoor spaces further enhance the onboard experience, allowing guests to fully enjoy life at sea.

Santosha will officially debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March 2025.
