Following last month’s launch of the latest YS53 at the Damen Yachting facility in Antalya, the 53-metre Yacht Support has now started sea trials.
With this third YS53 now out on the water and sea trials underway, the build team is working on the final preparations ahead of her build completion scheduled just a few weeks away in summer 2025. Pim Oostra, Damen Yachting Project Manager for this third YS53 stated, “We are delighted that this YS53 has started the sea trial phase of her build. It’s an important step towards her imminent build completion set for this summer. She is the third from this all-new YS53 design and is a great example of our Yacht Supports which are built for purpose and non-stop reliability”.
Damen Yachting has delivered over 20 purpose-built support yachts within their Yacht Support range. The YS53 design has been specifically developed for Owners with an active and dynamic lifestyle who seek capability and multifunctionality. The first two YS53s, “Bad Company Supports 175” and “Five Oceans”, were delivered in 2024.
The exterior design of YS53 is a striking blend of modern utility and sharp angular lines, with performance and durability as a priority. The axe bow design is engineered to slice through waves with ease, reducing vertical motion for a smoother ride whilst the high bow and pronounced spray rails keep the deck dry, ensuring safety and comfort while protecting sensitive equipment from saltwater, even in the harshest conditions. Her extensive aft deck space allows for versatility, functionality and adaptability meaning she is ready to support every yachting need.
