Dutch superyacht builder Heesen is reshaping its North American leadership as part of its long-term growth strategy in one of the industry’s most important markets.
After more than two decades representing the shipyard in the United States, Thom Conboy is stepping down from his role. The company has appointed Lars Christiaanse as Sales Director, Heesen USA, marking a new phase in its regional engagement.
During his tenure, Conboy played a key role in establishing Heesen’s reputation among American clients and positioning the yard as a recognised name in the high-end yachting segment. The transition reflects both continuity and renewal, as Heesen seeks to further strengthen its presence across the Americas.
The United States remains a cornerstone of Heesen’s global strategy. With the appointment of Christiaanse, the shipyard aims to combine its established market position with a fresh, internationally oriented perspective. Bringing more than two decades of experience in luxury hospitality and ultra-prime real estate, he has built a track record of working closely with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and managing complex client relationships.
Before joining Heesen, Christiaanse held senior positions in the London luxury property sector, overseeing sales and marketing for some of the world’s most prestigious residential developments. His professional background also includes international development projects in Brazil and strategic advisory roles across Europe and the United States. This experience in delivering bespoke, high-value experiences aligns closely with the expectations of superyacht clients.
