Nautor Swan, a manufacturer of sailing yachts, has announced that 60% of its shareholding has been acquired by Sanlorenzo Group.

This strategic acquisition is aimed at facilitating the continued growth of Nautor Swan and reinforcing its position as a premier shipyard in the sailing yacht segment, the Pietarsaari-based company says.

Founded in 1966, Nautor Swan has built a reputation for producing yachts ranging from 28 to 131 feet. The company also offers a range of services, including Nautor Swan Charter and Brokerage, Nautor Swan Global Service, and ClubSwan Racing. Additionally, ClubSwan serves as a virtual yacht club for Swan owners and enthusiasts.

Nautor’s primary production site remains in Finland

The Boatbuilding Technology Centre (BTC) in Pietarsaari, Finland, will remain the primary production site for Nautor Swan’s sailing yachts, preserving the company’s heritage and commitment to craftsmanship.

The agreement includes a planned four-year transition period, with the full transfer of shareholding expected by April 2028. This phased integration aims to create a leading entity in the high-end nautical market, focusing on product excellence, streamlined production processes, and an enhanced sales network.

The partnership with Sanlorenzo will support ongoing research and development efforts, including the exploration of new materials and sustainability initiatives, such as those already underway with the Swan 88. The collaboration is expected to foster the exchange of manufacturing expertise and expand market reach.

Nautor Swan’s integration with Sanlorenzo Group marks a significant step towards sustained growth and innovation, ensuring the company continues its legacy of building exceptional sailing yachts.
