Multiplex has introduced its new class-approved multiguard railing system for superyachts. Manufactured entirely from carbon fibre, the system is designed to combine strength and durability with low weight.
Unlike conventional stainless-steel railings, multiguard is corrosion-resistant and therefore designed for continuous use in marine environments while reducing maintenance requirements over the yacht’s lifetime.
The railing has been developed with a mechanical locking system intended to simplify installation. Components are aligned, inserted and secured with a 90-degree turn. According to Multiplex, this can reduce installation time during both newbuilds and refits while also simplifying maintenance.
The multiguard system can be supplied in virtually any colour, allowing naval architects and designers to integrate the railing into a yacht’s individual styling. It is also available in a variety of shapes and configurations to accommodate different deck layouts.
The new system adds to Multiplex’s range of lightweight yacht equipment as the company marks its 40th anniversary. According to the manufacturer, its products are installed aboard around 75% of the world’s largest yachts.
