A new player has entered the superyacht market. Monaco-based Matterhorn has launched an independent brokerage and advisory business offering yacht sales and purchase, charter, yacht management and strategic consultancy services.
The company was founded by Adam Papadakis, who serves as Chief Executive Officer, together with Kurt Fraser, who has joined as Founding Executive and Chief Commercial Officer. Matterhorn serves an international client base and plans to selectively expand its presence into key yachting markets.
According to the company, Matterhorn aims to support clients throughout the entire yachting journey – from newbuild projects and second-hand transactions to charter and yacht management. Rather than positioning itself solely as a brokerage house, the company sees its role as that of a long-term strategic advisor.
“Clients today have access to more information than ever before, but information alone does not necessarily create better outcomes,” said Papadakis. “Successful ownership requires context, interpretation and strategic guidance.”
Matterhorn says it combines brokerage experience, strategic advisory capabilities and commercial expertise in an effort to provide a more connected and intelligence-led approach to yacht ownership and operation. The company positions itself as an alternative to both smaller boutique firms and larger brokerage organisations.
Fraser points to changing customer expectations as a key driver for the new venture. According to him, a new generation of yacht owners and charterers is seeking greater transparency, faster access to information and more strategic support.
Matterhorn is already involved in several brokerage and advisory assignments and expects further growth over the coming year as demand for independent expertise and strategic client representation continues to increase.
