Heesen christens 55 m superyacht “Pa’lante”

Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts has officially christened its latest 55 m superyacht “Pa’lante”, previously known as YN 21055, during a ceremony at Hotel New York in Rotterdam.

The yacht is set to make her Mediterranean debut this summer before her first public appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

According to Heesen, the delivery underlines the yard’s speculative build strategy, which aims to offer owners shorter lead times without compromising Northern European build standards. Built on Heesen’s Ultra Efficient Steel Hull platform, “Pa’lante” draws on technical data from the shipyard’s proprietary database of more than 200 vessels, with operational feedback from the fleet incorporated into ongoing design refinements intended to improve reliability and performance.

At approximately 760 GT, the yacht combines substantial internal volume with dimensions designed to allow access to smaller Mediterranean ports. During construction, the project was known as “Frida”, a name rooted in Nordic tradition symbolising peace and referencing artist Frida Kahlo. The yacht has now been renamed “Pa’lante”, reflecting the owners’ forward-looking philosophy.

The exterior design comes from Dutch studio Omega Architects, while the interior was created by Luca Dini Design and Architecture. Silvia Margutti, lead architect at the studio, worked alongside Heesen’s in-house interior engineering team to adapt the layout to the owners’ requirements. The interior concept combines dark woods with lighter tones and includes dedicated spaces for the display of contemporary art.

Before delivery, “Pa’lante” completed sea trials in the North Sea, where the yacht met Lloyd’s Register classification standards, according to the shipyard. Heesen also highlighted its vertically integrated production model, retaining in-house control over naval architecture, steel construction and luxury interior outfitting.

“We are delighted to welcome M/Y ‘Pa’lante’ to the fleet and her owners to the Heesen family,” said Heesen CEO Jeroen van der Meer. “We wish fair winds and following seas to this beautiful vessel for her maiden season in the Mediterranean. We look forward to her official debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.”
