Dutch yacht builder Heesen Yachts is expanding its commercial footprint in the Mediterranean with a new dedicated sales office in Monaco. The move forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen owner relations and regional support following the shipyard’s return to Dutch family ownership.
Positioned in one of the world’s key yachting hubs, the Monaco office is intended to bring the yard closer to owners, brokers and designers, while creating a direct link to Heesen’s headquarters in Oss. According to the company, the new presence is designed to improve responsiveness and provide more immediate access to expertise in naval architecture, engineering and custom yacht construction.
Alongside the opening of the office, Lyam Last has joined the yard as Sales Manager. Last, founder of monitoring software specialist Nauticare, brings a technology-driven perspective to the sales role, with a focus on operational intelligence and owner support.
For Heesen, the Monaco base is intended not only as a sales outpost, but also as a regional interface for closer collaboration with yacht owners, managers and the brokerage community. The move reflects the growing importance of proximity and direct client engagement in the highly competitive superyacht sector.
“This is about bringing back the family-led dedication that defines Heesen,” said Jeroen van der Meer. He said teams in key yachting regions were essential to support both existing owners and prospective clients.
With the expansion, Heesen is reinforcing its positioning as a Dutch builder with global reach, while underlining Monaco’s continued role as a strategic centre for the superyacht business.
