The cruise design specialist Tillberg Design of Sweden (TDoS), part of The Viken Group, has unveiled the design for a 135 m yacht-inspired river cruise vessel developed for Transcend Cruises.
According to the designers, the concept is the first purpose-built river cruise platform to combine the atmosphere and aesthetics of a superyacht with the operational flexibility required for charter and event business. Rather than targeting the traditional river cruise market, the vessel has been conceived for corporate meetings, incentives, private charters and high-end group travel.
The newbuild will accommodate up to 120 guests in 60 staterooms served by a crew of 54. Thanks to a modular layout, adjoining cabins can be combined to create up to 30 two-room suites, allowing the accommodation to be adapted to different charter requirements.
Public spaces are designed around social interaction and flexibility. At the heart of the vessel is the two-deck “Forum”, an amphitheatre-style venue intended for presentations, performances, destination briefings and private events. Other amenities include several lounges, a library, private salons, a chef’s table, wine vault and barista bar.
The upper deck features outdoor leisure facilities including a lounge, grill, open-air cinema, walking track and yoga area. Wellness facilities comprise a spa, fitness studio, sauna and dedicated yoga space.
Tillberg Design of Sweden developed the project in close cooperation with Transcend Cruises, translating the operator’s requirements for adaptable layouts and a premium guest experience into a yacht-inspired design concept.
