The “Sparta”, a 67-meter yacht currently under construction at Heesen Yachts, has water under her keel for the first time. The shipyard has announced that construction of the yacht with the number YN 20067 is progressing according to plan[ds_preview].

The “Sparta” hull was launched for the first time within three days, while cranes were brought into position at Heesen in Oss. The hull was then towed to Oss and placed under the cranes to accommodate the two MTU engines (12V4000 M65R) and gearboxes. The two-part aluminum superstructure and the mast system were then placed on the hull. The finished construction is now in Heesen’s hall no. 5, where the outfitting and interior work will begin. According to the shipyard, the yacht will be ready for delivery in 2023.

According to Heesen, the connection between the hull and superstructure now reveals the yacht’s special exterior shape, which is characterized by a powerful bow and an inviting stern area with a stepped aft deck and a 6.50 m long infinity pool. By incorporating a raised pilothouse, Winch Design has created a new, sporty profile that will pave the way for the next generation of Heesen yachts, it says.

According to Heesen, the 1200 GT volume will be utilized to the fullest. The full-length saloon on the main deck, for example, is a “unique feature for a yacht of this size and gives ‘Sparta’ the ambience of a ‘pocket-sized’ mega yacht”. There are four double cabins on the main deck, the forward one of which can be converted into a full-width suite thanks to a sliding wall. On the lower deck there is a well-equipped wellness area with an oval whirlpool, sauna, steam bath and fitness room as well as crew accommodation and the galley. The owner makes full use of the upper deck, with suites in the bow and stern areas.
