Van der Valk’s “Shine” showcases custom engineering

The Dutch yard Van der Valk Shipyard has presented its latest custom project, “Shine”, highlighting the technical depth of its build philosophy.

Developed entirely from the keel up, the yacht was realised in close coordination between the owner’s external design team and the yard’s in-house engineering and production departments. This integrated approach brought together metalwork, carpentry, engineering, painting and interior construction at an early stage, enabling a high degree of technical alignment across all disciplines.

Particular emphasis was placed on translating bespoke design requirements into executable engineering solutions. Structural elements, material selection and production processes were tailored in parallel, allowing complex geometries and custom interiors to be implemented without compromising build integrity.

With “Shine”, the yard underscores its focus on technically driven custom construction in the 25 to 45 metre segment, where design individuality is closely linked to engineering precision.
