The “Opera” has only just been delivered when the next mega yacht from Lürssen is already floating in the water. The “Cosmos” project has a length of 110 m.[ds_preview].
The latest mega yacht is being built at the Kröger shipyard in Rendsburg. It is currently one of the world’s largest projects in the yacht sector and the fifth largest private ship currently being built by market leader Lürssen.
The most striking feature is that, according to Lürssen, the “Cosmos” is the world’s first mega yacht to be equipped with a fuel cell to generate energy.
Construction had already begun in 2020. The design is more reminiscent of an explorer yacht than a pure luxury yacht. The superstructure has been moved forward to make room for a large aft deck, where there is a swimming pool, among other things.
Observation lounge on the “Cosmos”
A hemispherical observation lounge can be seen above the four decks. There appears to be a helipad on the deck below. Which designers were at work is a well-kept secret, as are all the other details of this new superyacht.
Lürssen is currently building seven projects with a length of more than 100 meters. These include the 145 m long “Luminance“, which was unveiled for the first time in February.
