The Amels yacht “Here comes the sun” is six meters longer and 150 GT larger after her stay at the Damen Yachting shipyard in Vlissingen.

The “Here comes the sun” now measures 89 meters in length. Her GT has increased from 2827 to 2977. This makes her one of the largest Amels yachts delivered.

During its 16-month stay at the shipyard, the ship has been repainted, the sun decks have been redesigned, additional accommodation has been installed on the bridge deck, the spa area has been enlarged, the tender garage has been converted and the pool has been extended.

The first voyage of the “Here comes the sun” took her to England’s capital, London. Before the yacht set sail, Damen Yachting Project Manager Sander Peeters said: “The refit of ‘Here comes the sun’ was a very extensive and complex project. We are all very proud that we completed the work on time and to such a high quality, which was made possible by the teamwork and collaboration between our own teams, our co-makers and the owner’s team and crew. We would like to thank everyone involved for their contribution to the success of this special project. Leaving the shipyard is a very emotional moment and we look forward to following her next chapter and adventures with her owner.”

“Here comes the sun” was originally delivered in 2017 and returned to Damen Yachting in 2020 under new ownership for an extensive Amels refit. The owner commissioned Azure Yacht Design, the shipyard’s original naval architecture partner, to redesign the vessel.
