Damen Yachting has launched its latest Amels 80, marking another milestone for the 80-metre Limited Editions series. The yacht was launched at Damen Yachting’s facility in Galați, Romania.

Following the launch, the superyacht will now make her way to Vlissingen in the Netherlands, where she will enter the next phase of outfitting. Delivery of the yacht is scheduled for 2027.

This Amels 80 features an expansive 200 sq m sundeck, the largest in its class, as well as a three-sided open beach club, a private owner’s deck and a 6.5-metre swimming pool, offering generous spaces for relaxation and entertainment. The exterior design was created by Espen Øino International, while the custom interiors were developed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design.

Nicholas Schaffers, Project Manager at Damen Yachting, said: “The launch of this superyacht hull is an important milestone for our team in Galati, Romania. From the first steel cut to today’s launch, every stage has showcased the skill, precision, and dedication of our workforce. Superyacht construction demands exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. This milestone reflects the commitment of our welders, fitters, engineers, and project teams, who bring these superyachts to life with passion and professionalism. The launch is not only a key step in the build; it’s a testament to the people who make it possible.”

The Amels 80 is equipped with a hybrid propulsion system, enabling fuel-efficient and quiet operation. “Today, discerning owners understand that sustainability and smart Ownership go hand in hand,” says Rob Luijendijk, Commercial Director at Damen Yachting. “The Amels 80’s hybrid propulsion system and optimised hull design don’t just reduce environmental impact; they deliver significant fuel savings and lower operational costs whilst protecting long-term value. It is intelligent yacht Ownership for the modern era.”
