Rolls-Royce and Overmarine strengthen partnership

Rolls-Royce Power Systems has expanded its long-standing partnership with Overmarine. In addition to MTU propulsion systems, the yacht builder will also be integrating the manufacturer’s bridge systems.

The framework agreement for the integration of yacht bridges runs from 2026 to 2029. It covers the MTU NautIQ Bridge and 64 MTU Series 2000 engines.

Overmarine has relied on MTU propulsion systems for many years; almost all the yachts in its fleet are powered by Series 2000 engines. With this new contract, Rolls-Royce Power Systems is further expanding this partnership and will supply 30 propulsion systems comprising a total of 64 MTU engines of the 12V 2000 and 16V 2000 types, including two systems with four engines each.

The framework agreement also marks the introduction of the NautIQ Bridge systems to the Mangusta Oceano 52 yacht range. With the NautIQ Bridge, Rolls-Royce Power Systems offers a fully integrated, single-source solution for the intuitive control of the entire yacht, featuring coordinated hardware and software. The integrated solution combines the bridge, energy management and propulsion into a single, seamless system – with clear benefits for operation, overview and efficiency.

“Our Mangusta Oceano models require propulsion systems that operate reliably and are precisely tailored to the vessel. Rolls-Royce Power Systems has been supplying them to us for years. With the new framework agreement, control and propulsion are now even more closely integrated – this simplifies construction and enhances comfort for our owners,” says Overmarine CEO Maurizio Balducci.
