Numarine presents second 40MXP explorer yacht “Mitan”

With “Mitan”, Numarine has unveiled the second unit in its 40MXP series. The yacht was presented at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in late March and was commissioned by a family owner, with a brief focused on extended time at sea and shared cruising experiences.

With the 40MXP, the yard further develops its explorer concept. While the 37XP established Numarine’s credentials in the segment, the new series places greater emphasis on life on board. Increased deck space, flexible accommodation and a reconfigured stern define the design.

Below deck, the yacht accommodates up to 12 guests in six staterooms. The full-beam master suite is located on the main deck. Two of the remaining cabins are designed as adaptable spaces, allowing for use as additional guest cabins, a children’s room or an office. Guest and crew circulation are clearly separated to ensure unobtrusive onboard operations.

The interior design features natural stone, wood and glass in a neutral palette, with a focus on durability for extended cruising.

A key feature of the 40MXP is its stern arrangement. The aft deck is laid out across three levels, creating a seamless connection from the main saloon to the waterline. It comprises a dining area, a lounge centred around a pool, and a swim platform with direct sea access. Additional outdoor areas include a spacious flybridge and a more private foredeck.

Naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini provides a range of around 6,000 nm at 8 knots. The yacht is powered by twin 800 hp diesel engines from MAN, with higher output options available. Noise and vibration optimisation has been developed in cooperation with Silent Line.

The yacht can carry a tender of up to 9.7 m, along with various water toys, supported by a crane with a lifting capacity of up to three tonnes. Stabilisers ensure comfort both underway and at anchor.

To date, four units of the 40MXP have been sold, with two delivered, including “Mitan”. Following its debut in Palm Beach, the yacht is set to cruise south towards Mexico for several months, reflecting the long-range explorer concept of the series.
