German superyacht builder Lürssen has launched its latest project, the 101.4 m superyacht “Project Ziggy”, at its Rendsburg facility. Following the technical launch, the yacht will now enter the outfitting phase.
“Project Ziggy” was developed in collaboration with British design studio Harrison Eidsgaard. The yacht features a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. Lürssen describes the design as being defined by muscular architecture, balanced by a fluid yet angular design language shaped in glass and steel.
According to the shipyard, the yacht was commissioned by a North American client. The project was introduced to Lürssen by Thom Conboy of Conboy & Associates, while WMG is acting as the owner’s representative during construction.
Delivery of “Project Ziggy” is scheduled for 2028.
Lürssen is currently working on several other major yacht projects in parallel. In February, the 107 m explorer yacht “O3” (formerly “Project Shackleton”) began sea trials. The ice-class yacht was built at Lürssen’s Peene yard in Wolgast for expeditions in polar waters.
In March, the shipyard also sent the 78.2 m “Odisea” on her maiden voyage. The yacht, which was developed under the project name “ACE 21”, was created in collaboration with British design studio RWD.
