The Lürssen shipyard is currently sea trialling a new flagship project: the superyacht “O3”, better known under her original project name Shackleton.

The newbuild measures 107 metres in length, with a beam of 18 metres and a draught of 4.3 metres. The ice-class explorer yacht was built at Lürssen’s Peene yard in Wolgast and is specifically designed for expeditions in polar waters.

Her gross tonnage is reported at 5,885 GT, while top speed is said to reach 20 knots. On board, accommodation is provided for up to twelve guests and a crew of 22.

Although the yacht was originally scheduled for completion in 2022, a change of ownership during construction led to significant modifications and a subsequent rebuild phase.
