Largest Amels new build enters next construction phase

Schaffran

Amels has launched its largest new build to date, “Project Tanzanite.” The 120-metre Full Custom yacht, with a gross tonnage of 6,083 GT, was recently floated inside the dock and officially launched, marking a key milestone as she now enters the final outfitting stage.

The hull of the project was completed in Galati, Romania, and transferred to the Netherlands in June 2023. Final outfitting is now taking place at Amels/Damen Yachting’s main facilities in Vlissingen. Over the next year, more than 1,000 specialists from the shipyard and the wider international supply chain will contribute to the vessel’s completion, scheduled for 2026.

Project Tanzanite features exterior design by Espen Øino. As is customary with Full Custom builds, further details regarding the yacht’s features and interiors remain confidential.
