ISA Yachts unveils 86-metre “Poseidon” project

ISA Yachts has unveiled the 86-metre “Poseidon”, a new project in its ISA Large Yacht Collection. The Palumbo Superyachts brand combines a proven engineering platform with extensive scope for customisation.

“With 14 ISA superyachts currently under construction, we are strengthening our presence at the very top end of the market, a segment in which we intend to continue investing decisively. The 86-metre Poseidon embodies this direction: a project with a strong personality, developed on a solid engineering foundation, confirming our ability to offer increasingly sophisticated and distinctive custom solutions,” says Giuseppe Palumbo, Sole Director of Palumbo Superyachts.

“Poseidon” measures 86 metres in length and 12.80 metres in beam. Exterior and interior design are by Enrico Gobbi – Team for Design, while naval architecture has been developed by the ISA Yachts technical department.

The project combines the brand’s design language with generous interior volumes and a sleek silhouette. A distinctive feature is the high, gently curved bow, which gives the yacht a classic character interpreted in a contemporary style.

The long forward section leads into a superstructure positioned well aft, creating a streamlined, well-proportioned profile. The signature ISA arch has been refined and slimmed down to blend into the yacht’s lines without compromising the extensive glazing or views from the interiors.

The exterior combines taut surfaces with softer forms. Details such as the side air intakes and the shape of the superstructure draw on sports car design, translating these elements to the scale of a large superyacht.

Beach club with wellness area

Particular attention has been devoted to the stern, conceived as one of “Poseidon’s” defining architectural features. When the platforms open, they reveal an expansive beach club with direct access to the sea.

The lower-deck beach club is designed as a space for wellness and life by the water. Fold-down side platforms increase the usable area and open the space to the outdoors. Facilities include a sea-facing lounge, a bar and a glass-sided whirlpool tub. A passageway leads amidships to a wellness area with a gym, sauna, steam room and spaces for treatments and massages. Two additional sea-facing balconies can also be opened.

On the main deck, a T-shaped pool defines the outdoor area. It combines a whirlpool section with a larger swimming area while establishing a visual connection with the sea.

The pool also forms part of the stern’s architecture: its glazed structure is framed by an element reminiscent of a sports car spoiler. After dark, the pool lighting is intended to highlight the transparency of the glass and the geometry of the structure.

The outdoor spaces extend across several levels. Generous aft decks and bulwarks designed to minimise visual interruptions create a sequence of sea-facing terraces. Their deck surfaces become progressively slimmer towards the stern, reinforcing the design’s sense of lightness.

The main deck accommodates a spacious saloon with a seating area, cinema and dining space. The layout provides a clear separation between guest circulation and service routes.

The overall concept emphasises continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces. Extensive glazing along the decks is intended to maximise natural light throughout the interiors.

Dedicated owner’s deck

The upper deck is entirely reserved for the owner and conceived as a spacious private retreat. The suite features 360-degree glazing, a study, dressing room and a bathroom with a double shower and bathtub. It provides direct access to the forward outdoor area, where a large longitudinal pool, also designed for swimming, is flanked by generous sunbathing spaces. Its position well forward offers uninterrupted views towards the horizon while maintaining a high level of privacy.

This forward area can also serve as a touch-and-go helipad.

Aft on the upper deck, an indoor lounge with sofas is complemented by an outdoor area for relaxation and entertainment, including a dining table for 14 guests.

On the bridge deck, an additional panoramic space has been integrated without adding visual weight to the exterior profile. The sky lounge blends into the architecture of the uppermost deck, with a roof drawing on the aerodynamic lines of a sports car cockpit. This arrangement provides a third panoramic lounge and a Jacuzzi while preserving the sleek silhouette.

Two interior layouts are available: six cabins for up to 12 guests or seven cabins for up to 14 guests. The crew of 18 is accommodated in ten dedicated cabins.

Range of up to 5,000 nautical miles

“Poseidon” will have a high-strength steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. Full-load draught is 3.60 metres.

Propulsion will be provided by two mtu 16V4000M63L engines, each rated at 2,240 kW. Maximum speed is stated as 17 knots, with a cruising speed of 14 knots. Estimated range is approximately 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Two garages are planned: a forward garage for a rescue tender and water toys, and an amidships garage accommodating a tender up to 9.5 metres long in place of the gym.

With “Poseidon”, ISA Yachts expands its Large Yacht Collection. The project combines the yard’s experience in building large custom yachts with distinctive design, technically complex solutions and extensive scope for adaptation to the owner’s requirements.
