The German shipyard YYachts has presented its new Y7 sailing yacht, celebrating its world premiere at the Palma International Boat Show (PIBS).
With the new Y7, the yard continues the development of its product line. The predecessor, with more than 20 units sold, has established itself in the segment, according to the company. The new model has now been comprehensively revised both technically and in terms of design.
The development team, led by Luca Giammattei and Francesca Modica, collaborated with judel/vrolijk & co as naval architect. At the core of the redesign is a newly developed hull with modern hydrodynamics, aimed at improving stability and sailing performance, particularly in moderate wind conditions. A mast positioned further aft is intended to increase sail efficiency.
The deck layout has also been reworked. An asymmetric entrance allows unobstructed movement through the cockpit, which has been enlarged for greater comfort and safety. Newly positioned winches are designed to enable intuitive handling, while a U-shaped sofa on the starboard side enhances onboard comfort. The yacht is conceived for operation with a small crew.
Below deck, the Y7 offers increased volume and a high degree of customization. Owners can opt for a VIP guest cabin or an expanded crew area with crew mess. A separate utility space provides room for additional equipment.
A dedicated engine room, relocated from beneath the saloon to a separate technical compartment with dual access, is designed to reduce noise levels and improve onboard layout.
With the new Y7, YYachts aims to further strengthen its position in the premium segment for performance-oriented, user-friendly sailing yachts.
