The 500 GT yacht with the project name “Aura” has been launched at the Heesen shipyard in Oss, the Netherlands.
This is the fifth ship to be launched at the shipyard this year. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Heesen says he was able to keep to the schedule for the yacht’s construction.
“2021 has been a very exciting year for our shipyard, not only because of our numerous sales successes that will keep us busy for years to come, but also because of the milestones we have achieved in the construction of our yachts. Today we are celebrating the technical launch of this beautiful 50 m yacht. Project ‘Aura’ is our fifth yacht to be launched this year,” said Arthur Brouwer, CEO of Heesen, at the launch.
Inspired by classic automotive design elements, Clifford Denn drew the flowing lines of the motor yacht. The robust and strongly rounded hull makes her “ideal for long passages and offers maximum comfort in all conditions at sea”, according to the shipyard. Two MTU engines (8V4000 M63) ensure a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 3,800 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 13 knots.
The owners and their team worked closely with the Reymond Langton studio on the interior design. The “Aura” offers space for ten guests in five luxurious cabins, with the master suite in the foredeck on the main deck and the other guest cabins on the lower deck.
The yacht will remain at the shipyard in Oss for the commissioning of the most important systems. She will then be transferred to Hellevoetsluis to undergo tests in the North Sea. Delivery is scheduled for the end of April.
