A new 74-meter Amels 242 yacht has left the dry dock of Amels and Damen Yachting in the Netherlands.

The Tim Heywood-designed yacht [ds_preview]named “Project Shadow” is in the final stages of her outfitting before she is delivered later this year.

Following the announcement of the sale earlier this year, the new build team at Moran Yacht & Ship has overseen its completion. According to the shipyard, the owners were closely involved in customizing the yacht to their personal requirements, including the ice blue hull color and bespoke interior by Winch Design.

The Amels 242 also has a dedicated “owner’s deck” with a Jacuzzi on the foredeck and a larger capacity helicopter deck. In terms of emissions, Damen says the yacht is equipped with the latest IMO Tier III package.

The Amels 242 is the sixth 74m yacht in the Limited Editions range, offering a proven technical platform with a bespoke interior. Since 2005, the manufacturer has delivered more than 40 Limited Edition yachts. The business model of investing upfront in engineering and construction while maximizing customization “represents the perfect balance between full custom and semi-custom – and shortens delivery times from several years to just a few months,” says the shipbuilder.
