With effect from January 1, 2026, Roland Schwandt has taken over the management of propulsion expert Schottel. He succeeds Stefan Kaul. Christian Bock has been appointed to the position of Deputy Managing Director.
According to the company, Stefan Kaul will focus on production and materials management for the Dörth and Wismar production sites in future.
With Roland Schwandt and Christian Bock, the management of the company will pass into the hands of long-standing members of the management team. Roland Schwandt joined the company in 2000 as a project manager and gradually took on greater areas of responsibility – from managing the Tug & Offshore Energy segment to global sales responsibility as Vice President Sales and his appointment as Deputy Managing Director and overall responsibility for customer business in January 2024.
Christian Bock started his career in 2006 at SSPC in Suzhou, a former Schottel production site in China. After eleven years, he moved from his management role in finance there to the headquarters in Spay, where he first took over as Head of Controlling & IT and then as Vice President Finance & Administration.
Stefan Kaul joined the company in 1989. After holding senior positions in research and hydrodynamics, he took over responsibility for all engineering activities as Chief Technology Officer in 2007. “Since his appointment as Managing Director in 2018, Stefan Kaul, together with the management team, has successfully steered the company strategically to its current strong market position,” says Andreas Block, Managing Director of industrial holding company Schottel Industries. “We would like to thank him warmly for his exceptional commitment and are delighted that he will continue to be available to Schottel GmbH in a key position.”
