After an extensive refit, the Dutch shipyard Damen Yachting has delivered “Moonstone”. The 79.2-metre superyacht, originally named “Albatross”, was built by Delta Marine.
Over the past 26 months, the 2016-built yacht underwent a comprehensive Amels refit. “Moonstone’s” transformation included a complete overhaul of both the exterior and interior, in collaboration with London-based design studio Harrison Eidsgaard. Major changes included modifications to the transom and a reconfiguration of the interior layout.
“Moonstone” has been extended by 7 metres
Among the many updates — such as a 7-metre extension and a full repaint — numerous new features have been introduced. The Sun Deck has been redesigned as a vibrant social hub with a stylish bar, and a winter garden has been added to the Bridge Deck, creating new space for dining, entertaining, and relaxing. The Owner’s Deck now features a jacuzzi, and the Main Deck has been upgraded with a swimming pool. The Lower Deck now includes an expansive swim platform, offering easy access to the water for swimming, water sports, or simply lounging by the sea.
On behalf of the owners, Damon Smallwood commented: “We are proud and pleased with the intensive and effective collaboration that led to this final result. The owners now have a beautiful yacht to cruise around the world for years to come.”
Throughout her refit, “Moonstone” benefitted from the extensive facilities at both Damen Yachting’s Vlissingen locations, as well as from the experience of the dedicated Refit Sales team, design and engineering specialists, and project managers focused exclusively on refit production.
“Moonstone’s” Project Manager, Daan Langezaal, remarked: “After months of work on this beautiful project, we proudly bid her farewell. The collaboration with the owner’s team ran like clockwork, and challenges were successfully overcome. A big thank you to everyone involved in this wonderful project.”
