Viken Group has introduced a new 196-metre cruise yacht concept named REI, marking a development in the premium cruise yacht segment. The vessel combines sustainability, adaptable design, and a focus on guest experience.
REI is a collaborative project from the Viken Group, bringing together expertise from its three brands: Tillberg Design of Sweden (TDoS), Hot Lab, and Thalia Marine. The concept integrates exterior styling, engineering, master planning, and interior design within one unified approach.
The exterior of REI features streamlined lines inspired by natural forms, while the interior focuses on tactile materials and adjustable lighting aimed at providing a calm, technology-free environment. The vessel spans 10 decks, with accommodation for up to 112 guests and 125 crew. Key design elements include private and shared spaces, a forward infinity pool, private winter gardens, and duplex suites.
REI is designed with potential sustainable propulsion systems, including electric, hydrogen, solar, and wind options. The yacht also includes a 27-metre secondary expedition vessel for additional exploration.
A key feature of REI is a flexible operational concept, with changing entertainment, activities, and menus adapted to seasons and destinations. Dining is themed around the elements—sea, land, and sky—emphasizing a varied culinary experience.
