Italian shipyard Tankoa has introduced the S520, a refined evolution of its successful S501 model. Designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design, the new superyacht extends the previous platform from 49.8 to 52 metres, offering enhanced onboard spaces while retaining the sleek proportions of its predecessor.
A key focus of the redesign is expanded outdoor living. The S520 features a longer sun deck with an infinity pool, a larger upper deck skylounge, and a reworked flybridge. These updates reflect growing demand among owners for generous, functional open-air spaces.
Particularly notable is the reimagined stern, which seamlessly connects the main deck, swim platform and beach club. This multi-level area includes two side platforms and multiple light sources, maximising contact with the sea and usability even underway.
Several technical features have been integrated into the yacht’s design to preserve aesthetics and improve functionality. These include a concealed bow crane, a built-in gangway, and relocated staircases that free up the aft deck for entertainment, while reserving the forward section for toy storage.
Interior spaces – designed in collaboration with Margherita Casprini – offer higher ceilings, larger windows, and modern architectural elements such as layered panels and flowing transitions between rooms. The owner’s suite is composed of distinct but connected areas, unified through curved forms and a muted grey-toned palette.
Tankoa CEO Vincenzo Poerio describes the S520 as “a modern and eclectic design” that combines elegance with practicality, aligning with the shipyard’s vision for the next generation of superyachts.
