Sheikh opens the Dubai International Boat Show

The DIBS – Dubai International Boat Show is still running in Dubai until Sunday. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum attended the opening on Wednesday.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum visited the port of Dubai accompanied by numerous dignitaries, including His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai World Trade Center Authority, and His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council and Senior Advisor to the Dubai International Boat Show. The event, which is taking place for the 30th time this year, is organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre.

According to the organizers, 1,000 exhibitors from 55 countries will take part in the DIBS. More than 200 boats will be exhibited on water and on land. On the first day of the fair, 46 boats were presented, including new yachts from Behnemar, Sunseeker and Azimut.

Visitors can expect an extensive supporting program in Dubai

During the opening tour, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum visited the event’s superyacht ‘Avenue’ and stopped to speak with various international industry leaders and several UAE-based boat builders, including Lürssen Yachts, Azimut and Benetti. Local participants in the VIP tour included Gulf Craft, the Dubai International Boat Show’s long-standing partner, which is showcasing 11 vessels at the show this year.

In addition to the exhibition, the Dubai International Boat Show offers a range of activities for visitors, including the Hypercar Avenue with rare and extraordinary automobiles, a water sports zone with jet skis, flyboards, eFoils and much more. Dubai Harbour also hosted the world’s first jet suit race on the opening day, with participants from eight countries, including Ahmed Al Shehhi from the UAE, using jet engines to complete a predetermined course.
