Team Italia Marine, the Rolls-Royce subsidiary for yacht bridges and automation, welcomes Christian Paolini as Managing Director and Sales Director as part of its new management team.

With more than 20 years of experience in the maritime and technology sector, including as Sales Manager at Rolls-Royce Solutions Italia, he takes on this role with a “deep understanding of the yachting industry and the ambition to continue the success story of the bridge specialist”, Rolls-Royce says.

Paolini’s appointment is an important step in strengthening the continuity of the company and aligning Team Italia Marine’s long-term strategy with the vision and objectives of Rolls-Royce. Paolini has played an important role in the growth of Team Italia Marine from day one of the acquisition, which was completed at 30 June 2023.

Team Italia Marine has supplied more than 700 yacht bridge solutions

Team Italia Marine, based in Fano on the Italian Adriatic, was founded in 2000 and has become a major supplier of yacht bridges and integrated bridge solutions for large – mainly customized – Italian-built superyachts. The company has supplied more than 700 yacht bridge solutions to mainly Italian yacht builders.

The integrated yacht bridges offer the possibility to control the main ship control systems, from navigation, radio communication system and propulsion system to alarm and monitoring system, through a single interface. After Rolls-Royce acquired what is now Team Italia Marine in 2023, these complete solutions will now be integrated into Rolls-Royce’s MTU product portfolio, which offers an integrated product range for the yacht market with automation systems, engines and propellers in line with the “Bridge to Propeller” strategy.

Rolls-Royce enters a new phase in the development of bridge solutions

Denise Kurtulus, Senior Vice President Global Marine at Rolls-Royce Power Systems, said: “With this comprehensive portfolio under our MTU brand, we have an exclusive position in the yacht market, offering integrated solutions for the entire propulsion train as well as automation and control systems for large yachts. We are now entering a new phase in the development of bridge solutions for yachts. Christian Paolini will lead our specialists in Italy into a promising future, building on the global presence of the mtu brand.”

Christian Paolini said: “We are ready for the next technological leap: integrated bridges that not only enable to accept predictive maintenance solutions but also utilise artificial intelligence to give the captain and his crew completely new options for operating the ship optimal and safely. We will continue to internationalise our business by expanding our customer base with European customers outside of Italy as a first step. And we will expand our product portfolio to include standardised products for series yachts while continuing to offer our customers technologically sophisticated solutions for their individual products.”
