Numarine has appointed Patrik von Sydow as its new CEO. Returning to the Turkish shipyard after more than a decade, he brings over 20 years of leadership experience to drive growth and strengthen the explorer yacht builder’s global position.
A well-known figure in the superyacht industry, von Sydow brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across European yacht building. For the past six years, he served as CEO of Turquoise Yachts, overseeing substantial growth and multiple high-profile deliveries. Prior to that, he led international brand and engineering driven manufacturing companies as CEO across different industry sectors and notably previously served as CEO of Numarine from 2010 to 2012, making his return both strategic and symbolic as the company enters a new chapter.
In his new role, von Sydow will focus on accelerating the development of Numarine’s product range, strengthening operations, and advancing global market presence, while maintaining the shipyard’s reputation for innovation, efficiency, and craftsmanship.
Founder and Chairman Ömer Malaz will shift his attention toward long-term strategy, partnerships, and brand direction, ensuring continuity as the company scales.
“We are delighted to welcome Patrik back to Numarine,” says Ömer Malaz. “His experience in leading some of the industry’s most respected shipyards, combined with his deep understanding of our culture and product philosophy, makes him uniquely qualified for this role. Under his leadership, I am confident that Numarine will continue to thrive, expand, and deliver yachts that set new standards in design, performance, and quality.”
Speaking on his appointment, Patrik von Sydow comments: “Numarine has built an impressive position in the explorer yacht segment, and I am excited to rejoin the team at such a pivotal moment. The shipyard has a strong foundation, a loyal client base, and a clear product identity. My focus will be on developing the business further, strengthening operations, enhancing production capability, and supporting the continued success of the XP Series as we enter the next phase of growth.”
The appointment follows a period of momentum for Numarine, including new model launches and increasing global demand for the XP Series, ranging from 22 to 47 metres.
