Pastrovich Studio has presented “X-Bryce”, a new explorer yacht concept developed from more than two decades of design and refit experience. The project is aimed at modern families and at emerging shared ownership models. It seeks to combine space, efficiency and an authentic experience of life at sea.

According to the design studio, the concept draws on insights gained during the refits of “Zulu” (36m) and “Lady Jade” (41m), yachts used by family owners for extended periods. The generous internal and external volumes reflect an analysis of how families live and interact with space on board, addressing the limitations often associated with smaller yachts.

The 39–43 metre version is intended for families seeking to balance volume, build cost and operational efficiency, while the 47 metre version has been conceived for fractional ownership programmes, allowing several families to share ownership and management. It offers up to ten double cabins for twenty guests, with lounges and dining areas extending from bow to stern, while reducing both acquisition and operating costs.

An aluminium superstructure and steel hull provide strength and stability for extended cruising. With a length of 39 metres, a beam of 8.6 metres at the waterline and 9.6 metres at the main deck, and a draught of 2.4 metres, “X-Bryce” reaches a gross tonnage of around 460 GT. The concept emphasises efficiency, comfort and seaworthiness rather than speed. Equipped with engines rated between 800 and 1,000 hp, it achieves a maximum speed of 14 knots and is optimised for long-range cruising with fuel efficiency in mind.

The interiors have been designed as a flexible, open living space at sea. Consistent with Arch. Pastrovich’s design philosophy, the furniture consists of movable elements, enabling owners to adjust the layout to their needs. This approach allows the interior to evolve over time, creating a living environment suited to those who spend long periods on board.
