Metstrade 2025 opens its doors tomorrow, bringing the global yachting industry together in Amsterdam from 18 to 20 November.

With more exhibitors, more product launches and more innovation zones than ever before, this year’s edition places environmentally responsible technologies at the centre of the leisure marine sector’s most important international platform.

This year’s show is set to be the largest to date, with nearly 1,700 exhibitors and a record number of new products on display. With such a broad range of innovation, investing more time in exploring the halls will pay off. A particular focus lies on products and solutions that are driving sustainability forward.

For the first time in the show’s history, sustainable innovations will be spread across all 13 halls of the RAI Amsterdam, underscoring both the growth of the event and the rising quality of new products entering the leisure marine market.

Visitors can expect to see materials for boatbuilding, propulsion and engine systems, electronics, decking, rigging, coatings, paints, maintenance products, life-saving equipment, fuel systems, filtration, accessories, fittings, marina infrastructure and more. The overarching theme throughout the show remains innovation and sustainability.

Metstrade has introduced an extensive programme highlighting products that help reduce the environmental impact of the leisure marine sector.

Foiling is one example of an innovation featured across the show, including in the Foiling Technology Zone, where visitors can learn how racing-developed foiling can boost efficiency and reduce fuel consumption on recreational boats. The superyacht sector will also see a dedicated session on adopting foiling for larger yachts, hosted on the Superyacht Stage.

Next gen zone

The Next Gen Zone in Hall 13 brings together pioneering companies offering practical solutions to lower environmental impact across the sector. It includes the Sustainable Innovation Hub, Royal 3D and the Next Generation Propulsion Showcase.

The Sustainable Innovation Hub, hosted by World Sailing and The Sustainability Toolbox, turns waste into valuable resources through reuse, repurposing and recycling. It showcases sustainable products and circular solutions, supported by case studies from across the sector. Visitors can take part in World Sailing’s Product Circularity benchmarking survey, explore innovative materials and access free sustainability education and consulting from The Sustainability Toolbox team at Foxall Munro.

Royal 3D demonstrates how advanced 3D printing can transform recycled materials into functional, future-ready products. The company designed the new DAME Design Awards trophy, inspired by the sail as a symbol of maritime elegance and freedom. Printed from recycled thermoplastic combined with repurposed wood from interior refit projects, each trophy reduces environmental impact and carries its own story and texture.

The Next Generation Propulsion Showcase, in collaboration with the International Electric Maritime Association (IEMA), presents the latest innovations in sustainable propulsion. Expanded beyond electric and hybrid systems, it now includes alternative fuels, zero-emission technologies and other solutions aimed at greener propulsion. Exhibitors and visitors can explore new concepts, exchange knowledge and discuss pathways toward cleaner, smarter systems.

IEMA will also host two panel discussions on the Metstrade Stage. One will explore how the leisure marine industry can better use data to support progress and decision-making. The second, titled Silence and Sensation, examines how noise and vibration impact comfort, fatigue and customer expectations.

Superyacht sustainability route

Metstrade 2025 marks the fourth edition of the Superyacht Sustainability Route, organised in partnership with the Water Revolution Foundation. Designed for the expanding superyacht segment, it highlights sustainable solutions that have undergone rigorous third-party Life Cycle Assessments.

These verified technologies focus on improving efficiency, reducing environmental impact, strengthening corporate responsibility and minimising waste throughout the entire lifecycle of both new and existing superyachts.

Patricia Becker, Exhibition Manager for Metstrade, said: “We are very excited about the innovations on show at Metstrade. Every year we are amazed by the new solutions developed around the world, and sustainability is a particularly strong theme running through the show.”

Marine Impact Lab

The Marine Impact Lab is an immersive one-day workshop designed to fast-track sustainability in the leisure marine industry. Supported by Metstrade, ICOMIA, World Sailing, Northern Lights Composites, the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta and 11th Hour Racing, it offers participants practical tools, strategic insights and hands-on experience to drive measurable change.

The first speakers confirmed for the product and design panel include Will Hopes (BAR Technologies), Alessandro Stagni (Northern Lights Composites), Etienne Le Pen (Kairos) and Moritz Möker (Holy Technologies). They will address key challenges such as circular materials, sustainable design across the supply chain, and whether innovation should be collaborative or competitive.

Metstrade’s sustainability drive

Beyond highlighting sustainable products, Metstrade is committed to making responsible choices itself, including reducing single-use plastics and food waste, and encouraging sustainable stand design. New this year is a green travel initiative: the Metstrain, a dedicated Eurostar carriage from London to Amsterdam exclusively for visitors, exhibitors and partners.

Metstrade 2025 continues the event’s long-standing role as a reflection of the sector it serves. Through thoughtful expansion, curated content and close collaboration with industry partners, the show remains a crucial meeting point for all segments of the leisure marine world. Whether focused on superyacht systems or everyday onboard essentials, Metstrade remains a key moment in the annual calendar to connect, discover, learn, do business and shape future success.
