Hot Lab, a part of the Viken Group, has unveiled further details of its design for the new 35m custom AES Yacht superyacht, “Mereley I”. The Milan-based studio is responsible for both the yacht’s exterior and interior design.
A fully custom superyacht now ready for an owner, “Mereley I” strikes a balance between a modern explorer and a sportier yacht. As Hot Lab co-founder and design director Enrico Lumini explains: “Her volumes clearly reference the tradition of expedition vessels, yet at the same time, they exude a more dynamic and sporty spirit. We wanted to give a sleeker look to a classic explorer.”
“Mereley I” – built to RINA classification
Constructed to RINA classification standards, the yacht features a semi-displacement steel hull, a robust aluminum superstructure, and a transatlantic range of 3,800 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11.5 knots.
The full-beam owner’s suite is located forward on the main deck and includes a centrally positioned king-size bed, an office space, a walk-in wardrobe, and an en-suite bathroom. Large windows provide extensive natural light. Up to 12 guests can be accommodated on board, with two additional VIP cabins and two twin en-suite cabins located amidships on the lower deck.
The spacious skylounge is designed for relaxation, offering ample natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows. Guests can enjoy phenomenal views from the bar and lounge area, while sliding glass doors provide direct access to an additional dining space on the deck. The airy and bright main deck saloon offers an alternative lounging area, complete with an L-shaped sofa and a dining table for up to 10 guests.
Optimized for ultimate enjoyment
According to the design studio, “Mereley I” integrates numerous contemporary design features within her 35-metre length, including an impressive stern beach club. Topped with two stunning skylights, the area features a large, multi-functional swimming platform that accommodates a generously sized tender. Other standout elements include a spacious sundeck with a jacuzzi and a dedicated technical space for jet skis on the upper deck.
“Our goal was to design a striking, modern explorer yacht with expansive windows, open bulwarks, and a spacious layout. We prioritized a strong connection to the sea, incorporating a large swimming platform, beach club, and an airy sundeck. The Hot Lab team executed everything to perfection,” said Erdem Biçer, shipyard manager and partner at the Turkish yard. “’Mereley I’ is ideal for owners who value luxury, comfort, and versatile indoor-outdoor living, offering ample space for relaxation and socializing, even with large groups.”
A second yacht is already in planning
“Mereley I” is now listed for sale. “More than just a yacht, ‘Mereley I’ is a statement of ambition, sophistication, and the pursuit of adventure,” commented Deniz Kaymaz, yacht broker at Northrop & Johnson, the central agency representing the superyacht. “She embodies the perfect balance of strength and elegance, designed for those who refuse to compromise on either. Crafted with precision and vision, this yacht isn’t just about reaching destinations; she’s about redefining the journey.”
Following the launch of “Mereley I”, AES Yacht is now planning the production of a second hull and is already collaborating with Hot Lab on a 40-metre version from the same line, with details set to be revealed later this year.
