The superyacht “Luna”, seized by German authorities nearly two years ago, is now reportedly up for sale.

Since May 2022, the 115-metre explorer yacht has been docked at Blohm+Voss in Hamburg. German officials impounded the vessel after its owner, Russian-Azerbaijani oligarch Farkhad Akhmedov, was placed on the EU sanctions list. Since then, “Luna” has been barred from being sold, chartered, or moved.

Despite the restrictions, several yacht brokers are currently listing “Luna” for sale, with an asking price of €270 million. However, any potential sale would still require approval from the relevant authorities while sanctions remain in place.

“Luna” – originally built for Abramovich

Built in 2010 by Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven, “Luna” was originally commissioned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. The yacht underwent a major refit in 2015–2016.

On board, “Luna” can host up to 18 guests and 51 crew. The vessel is ice-class certified, powered by MTU engines, and capable of reaching a top speed of 22 knots.
