GX Superyachts reaches milestone

Schaffran

The Slovenian company GX Superyachts has taken another significant step towards delivering its first GX42 yacht with the successful turning of the aluminium hull.

According to the yacht builder, this complex manoeuvre represents a key milestone in the construction process and marks a strong start to the new year for a brand that is already making waves in the industry.

Four massive mobile cranes and several hours of meticulous work were required to complete the lift, which took place outside the main shed of their build partner SES Yachts, located near Tuzla, Turkey.

This project marks the first build for the newly established GX Superyachts. Upon delivery, the 42m (138ft) yacht will combine “market-leading efficiency with exceptional comfort and write a new chapter for responsible yachting,” according to GX Superyachts.

GX Superyachts plans to deliver the newbuild in summer 2026

Not only was the hull successfully turned, but the build team has also accomplished the mating of the hull and superstructure early in 2025. The first GX42 features a sleek raised pilot house design, with a low-profile, curved hardtop that not only enhances its sporty appearance but also serves as the foundation for an impressive 27kW (maximum power) array of solar panels. This striking structure is now clearly visible for the first time.

“It is hugely exciting to see our carefully chosen build partner SES Yachts making such good progress,” said GX Superyachts founder and owner, Vladimir Zinchenko. “The turning of the GX42 hull could have been an anxious moment but it proceeded exactly as planned. Not only that, but the superstructure and hull have now been joined, transforming her for the first time into the ship she will become.

“The build is actually ahead of schedule, to the owner’s clear delight. We are starting to show the GX42 to the many prospects who have expressed real interest in the GX Superyachts brand. It feels as if this incredible project has just taken a huge leap forward. We couldn’t be more pleased with the dedicated team that have made all this possible, from Marco Casali’s visionary design to Francesco Rogantin & NAMES for top-tier naval architecture and SES for their skilled craftsmanship.”

The first GX42 is scheduled for delivery in the summer of 2026.
