Renowned Greek yacht designer Theodoros Fotiadis has launched the new Astra Nord shipyard in Stralsund. The facilities are intended to facilitate new builds from 65 m in length and refit projects of up to 295 m.
The shipyard site comprises 97,000 m² of covered, heated space, including 32,000 m² of office space and 24,000 m² of workshops. The centerpiece will be an assembly hall measuring 300 × 110 × 75 m. The infrastructure will be supplemented by an 800 t crane and a 270 m long ship lift.

The first customer is the 47.2 m long “Ocean Dreamwalker III”, which came to Stralsund for a refit. At the same time, Astra Nord is working on several design lines in the 65 to 96 m segment, which Fotiadis believes has left a gap since Nobiskrug ceased operating in this area.
The shipyard wants to secure a unique selling point with a comprehensive after-sales service. Fotiadis emphasized that its global network of specialists is always available for routine maintenance, modernization or technical support to ensure that the yachts are ready for use.
One of the first designs is the 78 m long “NEON”, developed together with Lateral Naval Architects. It is based on a bulkhead-free platform and is designed to create an open feeling of space thanks to large glass walls, folding terraces and seamless transitions between the interior and exterior areas.
