With the “Zurich” project, the Dutch shipyard Damen Yachting has launched the third yacht in the “Amels 80” series at its Vlissingen-East site.
The 80-metre new build is part of the so-called “Limited Editions” series and is due to be handed over to the owner later this year. As is usual with superyachts of this size, details about the buyer are being kept under wraps.
After the launch, the yacht will be moved to the headquarters in Vlissingen, where the final outfitting and testing will take place. The ship was sold shortly after the model’s market launch in 2022. A sister yacht is also currently undergoing final outfitting, while the first “Amels 80” has already been delivered.
Parallel to the completion of the units in the “Amels 80” series, the shipyard is realizing further projects in the “Amels 60” series as well as full-custom new builds and refit orders. According to the company, this underlines the continuing demand for the limited edition concept.
Key features include a 6.5 m long pool with glass floor, a generously sized beach club with wellness area and a 200 m² sun deck – one of the largest in this class. The exterior design was created by Espen Øino International.
Damen Yachting is part of the Damen Shipyards Group and employs around 1500 people. In addition to the “Amels” superyachts, the company also builds and refits explorer yachts and yacht support vessels.
