With the launch of the first Amels 80, Damen Yachting introduces a new chapter in its Limited Editions range – combining contemporary design, hybrid technology and bespoke craftsmanship in an 80-metre superyacht built for performance, comfort and sustainability.
Sold just six months after its design was introduced in 2022, this first hull—managed by Burgess on behalf of the Owner—marks the debut of an all-new platform that blends craftsmanship, innovation, and environmental responsibility. The Amels 80 is defined by clean exterior lines by Espen Øino, a bespoke interior by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, and a hybrid propulsion system engineered by Damen Yachting.
Sean Bianchi, Partner and Head of Burgess Technical Services, commented: “We are delighted to see Amels 80, hull number 01 depart her construction dock and enter the commissioning and sea trials phase. This milestone marks the culmination of close collaboration between Damen Yachting, Sinot, and the Owner’s team in crafting a yacht that is truly one of a kind.
As the first 80m Limited Editions, this yacht has evolved into something truly extraordinary through the owner’s vision and meticulous input. With her striking exterior lines and a bespoke interior like no other, we are proud to support both the Owner and the shipyard in bringing Amels 80, hull number 01 to life. Upon delivery, she is set to become an icon — instantly recognisable by her distinctive paintwork and exceptional design.”
With a gross tonnage of 2,175 GT, the Amels 80 accommodates up to 14 guests in seven suites and is operated by a crew of 21. Key features include a private owner’s Deck, 6.5-metre pool, helipad, and an expansive Beach Club with spa, gym, and wellness amenities. Built for long-range cruising, she offers a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
Rose Damen, Managing Director of Damen Yachting, concluded: “With today’s launch of the first Amels 80, we have reached another landmark achievement in the history of Amels. I would like to thank our Client and the team at Burgess for entrusting us with this very special build. We are honoured and excited to see the final phase through to delivery.”
