The 29-metre motor yacht “Belle de Jour” has arrived at Balk Shipyard for a scheduled refit programme ahead of the upcoming Mediterranean season. The works will include key technical maintenance as well as selected cosmetic upgrades.
“Belle de Jour” was built in 2013 by Holland Jachtbouw in Nijkerk, east of Amsterdam. The yard is rooted in a regional shipbuilding tradition dating back to the 15th century, a heritage reflected in the yacht’s build quality and detailing.
The design was penned by Dutch naval architect Pieter Beeldsnijder, who created around 2,500 vessels during his career, including numerous award-winning sailing yachts and motor yachts for leading Northern European yards. For “Belle de Jour”, he specified long, powerful exterior lines, closed bulwarks and a high freeboard. Despite her 29-metre length, the yacht offers approximately 140 GT of internal volume, with a layout that creates the impression of a significantly larger vessel.
The refit at Balk Shipyard focuses on technical inspections and maintenance measures designed to prepare the yacht for the next cruising season while preserving her original character. Balk is working closely with Flavo Jachtbouw on the project. Delivery back to her owners is scheduled for later this year.
