Sunreef Yachts has presented its most extensive project to date: the 65M Sunreef Explorer. At 65 metres in length and 1,800GT, the concept would be the largest luxury catamaran ever designed, combining long-range efficiency with the facilities of an expedition yacht.
The design provides accommodation in seven double guest cabins, supported by a crew of 22. Features include two pools, spacious indoor and outdoor lounges, and a beach club with fold-down platforms, gym, and storage for water toys.
The upper deck is dedicated to the owner, with floor-to-ceiling windows, a foredeck lounge, two bathrooms, a walk-in wardrobe, and an office. Two VIP suites and four further guest cabins complete the guest accommodation.
Shared spaces are intended for both formal and informal use, ranging from dining areas and panoramic lounges to a bar on the bridge deck and extensive terraces. A 6m aft pool and Jacuzzi deck form part of the outdoor programme.
The catamaran’s hull design allows for a particularly large beach club at the stern. From the pool deck, steps lead to the yacht’s skirts, which can be combined into a broad waterside platform. The area can store a 7m tender and several jet skis, or be fitted out as an open-air lounge at the water’s edge.
Performance data indicate a cruising speed of 14 knots and a maximum of 18 knots. A retractable A-frame crane is planned for handling large tenders, submersibles, or a chase boat of up to 45ft.
Initial renderings show design features consistent with Sunreef’s established style: reverse bows, darkened glass surfaces, and sweeping curves. The 65M Sunreef Explorer forms part of the yard’s Explorer line and extends its design language to a new scale.
